Among the classes we offer are:

Barre

Each class incorporates a combination of high-intensity sequences of thigh, seat and core exercises at the barre. Tone your muscle while improving our posture.

Boot Camp/ H.I.I.T

A great way to lose extra inches, our boot camp challenges you by integrating high cardio exercise such as push-ups, squats and running, with free weights and bands, that target all areas of your body.

Conditioning

This blend of aerobic and fitness exercises offers not only a great way for you to tone up and burn off calories, but can also help you to improve your performance in other sports and athletic pursuits. It is useful if you are overcoming injuries or want to learn how to avoid hurting yourself when training.

Body Sculpting

This muscle toning class helps add definition to your body using weight bars, dumbbells and exercise bands. As well as muscle tone, this class can lower your risk of osteoporosis.

Cardio

A great way to lose extra inches, our boot camp challenges you by integrating high cardio exercise such as push-ups, squats and running, with free weights and bands, that target all areas of your body.

Cycling

It gets your heart pumping, keeps your body toned and gives you the marble buttocks of a greek statue. And if you have wheels on your bike, you can even get from A to B without buying gas. But if weather and traffic keep you inside, BodyStrength has cycles galore ready to take you on a spin to health.

NIA

Taking elements from martial arts, dance and yoga, NIA is an almost mystical form of aerobics that is sensory based and, some say, sensual. The idea is you move your body in a natural way and prioritise flexibility, mobility and agility at the same time. You discover the pleasure of inhabiting your own body, while getting nicely toned at the same time.

Pilates

Developed by Joseph Pilates nearly a century ago, Pilates is the perfect exercise for our increasingly cramped city as it can be done with a small amount of floor space. Specially developed exercises increase your core strength and flexibility, lengthen your limbs and improve your posture. Perfect for people of any age or condition, Pilates can help you rehabilitate, prepare you for pregnancy or even just improve your fitness and strength.

Yoga

Yoga is an ancient practice that aims to create balance in the body while developing your strength and your flexibility. This is achieved through different yoga poses, each with its own physical benefits. Different schools of yoga bring different challenges, so you can easily find one that suits you and try several styles with their differing benefits and philosophies.

  • Hatha Yoga: Hatha yoga also called Hatha Vidya, is a system of yoga described by Yogi Swatmarama, a 15th century Hindu yogi. This form of yoga has no flow between the poses and many classes consist of slow stretching and meditation. This makes Hatha a good way to become familiar with yoga and its poses and techniques.
  • Vinyasa Yoga: In Vinyasa yoga, you are encouraged to align your movements with your breathing and link your poses together while inhaling or exhaling, as though doing a dance. Each Vinyasa teacher has his or her own style, so classes can be varied and unpredictable.
  • Gentle Yoga : We also offer gentle yoga, which is less intense than other yoga forms and puts far less stress on the body. Gentle yoga uses the hatha method but you do not go into the postures as deeply or flex quite as much. This makes ideal for people who, for various reasons might not be able to cope with the demands of other yoga forms. We advise it for people who might be rehabilitating after injury as well as pregnant women, seniors or anyone out of shape or who would like to try a more gentle approach. It is a wonderful pre-natal exercise, especially for mothers-to-be in late pregnancy.

Open level classes are more challenging
